SHEATH. Overall: 14.25". Unmarked Bowie 9.25" blade. Brass knuckle guard & hilt. Bridle leather sheath held by brass rivets. This style knife was previously named the 1st Battalion Ranger model but recently it has been determined that these knives originated in Australia. The 1st Ranger Battalion fought in North Africa, Sicily & Italy, so a Ranger connection to these model knives is ruled out. It is possible however that these knives saw service against the Japanese in the PTO. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: zippered case. CONDITION: knife has a pleasing dark patina appearance with sm. knicks in edge & remnants of varnish on brass. Sheath in good intact condition with cracking of leather. (02-26414/MD). NON-GUN. $500-800.
